Ralph is a native Georgian, born not far south of the mountains in Canton, Georgia, where he played baseball, basketball and football. After being injured while on the Florida State Seminoles football team, he went on to play baseball for Georgia Southern University. He graduated from Georgia Southern and worked in community recreation for a number of years, including in the towns of Statesboro & Dalton, GA. In 1973, Ralph moved his family to Hiawassee to develop the Towns County Parks and Recreation Department. After organizing and funding the program, Ralph joined the Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites Division as regional manager, retiring in 2001.

Having been involved in residential & commercial real estate in Atlanta in the 1970’s, Ralph’s love for these mountains and for people led him to become active in real estate once again. He is very knowledgeable of the real estate in Towns & Union counties in Georgia and the Hayesville and Murphy, NC, areas and has been involved in buying, selling, and developing land in this area for 28 years.
